2024 Hajj fare may be less than N4.5m – Ag NAHCON Chairman

The Ag Chairman/CEO, National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON, Malam Jalal Arabi has expressed hope that the 2024 Hajj fare could be less than N4.5 million.

HAJJ REPORTERS reports that the NAHCON had announced N4.5 million as initial deposit for the next year’s Hajj to the intending pilgrims.

Speaking in a short interview with BBC Hausa, Malam Arabi said the rise in the initial deposit is as a result of the world economic realities that affect almost every strata of development.

He said the 2024 Hajj preparations had already commenced, expressing optimism that the robust plans and measures put in place would yield positive results.

“Some weeks ago, it was announced that intending pilgrims should deposit N4.5 million initial deposit. There is no surprise if the amount drops, so that the intending pilgrims will pay less than the N4.5 million earlier announced, He said.

“We hope and pray the final amount be less than N4.5 million. I know people know the situation, economic challenges is worldwide,” he said.

On the new system of deadline for the registration of pilgrims, the Ag CEO said it is a new system that everybody must adapt.

He disclosed that the Saudi Arabia would issue calendar and guidelines for commencement of airlift of the pilgrims.

He promised to conduct a seamless and successful Hajj operation with new innovations that would make pilgrims get value for their money.
