The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has urged its Local Government Hajj officers to ensure timely allocation of Hajj seats to intending pilgrims.

The Director-General of the board, Alhaji Laminu Rabi’u Danbappa made the call on Thursday at a one-day workshop for the Hajj officers ahead of the 2024 exercise.

Danbappa urged the officers to intensify their efforts in selling all allocated Hajj seats in their respective local government of operation, according to statement by Sulaiman A. Dederi, Public Relation Officer of the board.

He said the DG noted the urgency of the situation, stressing the necessity for collecting N4.5 million initial deposits from intending pilgrims before December 25.

Additionally, according to Dederi, the DG reminded the officers that Saudi Arabia is in the process of finalizing visa issuance 50 days before Arafat during this year’s Hajj.

“The Board expresses gratitude for the cooperation of all stakeholders in facilitating a smooth pilgrimage process and anticipates the proactive efforts of local Government Hajj Centre officers in meeting the allocated seat targets.

“In his part, the Director of Hajj Operations, Alhaji Kabiru Muhammad Panda, urged them to pay close attention to the teachings.

“Alhaji Kabiru Panda thanked the State Government under the able leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusif for his commitment to Hajj,” the statement concluded.
