Hajj 2024: Plateau board takes Hajj deposit enlightenment to Wase, Kanam emirates


As part of efforts to ensure a smooth exercise for the 2024 Hajj operations in Plateau state Muslims Pilgrims Welfare Board has embarked on a sensitization tour to religious and traditional rulers.

In a statement by its spokesman, Yusuf Wase, the board said the enlightenment and sensitization tour is to help educate the public on the modalities and time frame for all intending pilgrims to deposit the N4.5 million as instructed by the National Hajj commission of Nigeria, NAHCON due to some changes that requires early preparation according to the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

At the Wase Emirate council, according to the statement, the team met with the Emir, HRH. Alh. Dr Mohammad Sambo the second, Imams, District heads and other title holders for the purpose of sensitization on the time constraints and the need for the leaders to carry the message to their people, especially the intending pilgrims.

Speaking, Chairman, Plateau State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board Alh. Danladi Kwari, said they were at Wase to seek collaboration with critical stakeholder in order mobilize intending pilgrims pay their deposit within the stipulated time.

On his part the Executive Secretary Plateau State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alh. Daiyabu Dauda said there is no better time than now to educate the people on the time limit for any intending pilgrim to make the deposit.

He noted that NAHCON had allocated 1,332 slots to plateau and the number of those who paid the N4.5 million is not much.

Dauda added that the Board, under his leadership is doing everything humanly possible to reposition it for effective service delivery.

Responding, the Emir of Wase, Sarkin Dutse HRH. Alh. Dr. Mohammad Sambo the second, appreciated the captain of the Board for finding time to visit the Community leaders.

He added that the tour would encourage the intending pilgrims to make early deposit because of the leadership qualities exhibited by the duo of the Board chairman and the Executive Secretary.

At Kanam Emirate also, the team were also received by the Emir HRH. Alh. Dr. Muhammadu mu”azu Muhammadu the second, who described the sensitization tour as timely and best way to remind and educate people on the new arrangements, ” this is the first time, that Plateau State Muslim pilgrims welfare Board embark on a tour like this, you are blessed and insha Allah you will succeed,” said the Emir.

The Royal father took time to engage the officials of the Muslim pilgrim’s welfare board in order to get enough information that will be shared to the public due to the 31th December,2023 dateline for all intending pilgrims to make their deposit.

The board chairman Alh. Danladi kwari and the Executive Secretary took time to explain things as they are to the royal father, District heads and Imams who were on ground to listen to the massages brought by the pilgrims’ welfare Board.

The duo appealed to the community leaders to help spread the message and encourage intending pilgrims not to wait till at the last minutes before rushing.

At the two places visited, they both promised to carry the message to their people.

Murtala Tsenba Magaji, Director of internal Audit Haj. Safiya Yakubu and the staff Officer Alh. Salmanu Abdullahi amongst others .

“The meeting/tour which will go along way in sensitizing the intending pilgrims is a continuous one as the board intends to visit all the seventeen Local Government areas of Plateau State,” the statement concluded.
