Hajj 2024: Niger board worried over low Hajj fare deposit as Saudi deadline approaches

The Executive Secretary, Niger State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Sheikh Mohammad Awwal Aliyu has expressed concerns over the low response of deposits for 2024 Hajj.

In a statement by Jibrin Usman Kodo, spokesman of the board, the ES stated this on Wednesday during the first interface between the Management, the newly appointed Chairman, Sheikh Abubakar Mohammad Beji and the board members of the Pilgrims Welfare Board at the Board’s Conference Hall.

He said, while sharing an update on the 2024 Hajj preparations in the State, the Executive Secretary noted that out of the 3,592 seats allocated for the state by the NAHCON for the 2024 Hajj, only about 505 intending pilgrims have made their payments so far.

Sheikh Mohammad Awwal stressed the importance of prompt payments to secure seats for a successful and hitch-free 2024 Hajj operation.

He highlighted the significance of financial commitments in enabling the board to make necessary arrangements, adding that out of the 505 only 392 have made the 4.5m initial deposit completely others are yet to complete but hoping for their completion before the 30th December dateline.

He appreciated the Chairman and the Board members for the enthusiasm and commitment shown, emphasizing on the continued sensitization of the public on deadline in different forums in order to have a large turnout.

The interface provided an opportunity for the board members to discuss strategies to address issues, engage in open and constructive discussions to clarify their roles seeking the board to intensify radio and other sensitization of the requirements and deadline for the intending pilgrims to ensure a smooth Hajj operations.

In his remark, the chairman of the Board, Sheikh Abubakar Mohammad Beji, expressed gratitude for the opportunity and his commitment to ensuring a seamless and memorable Hajj experience for all pilgrims.

He emphasized the importance of unity, effective communication and collaboration among the board members and the management to achieve the desired goals.

The Chairman stressed the need for effective communication and engagement with the intending pilgrims to raise awareness about the payment deadline and the consequences of non-completion of the payment.

The interface between the E,S, the Management and the newly appointed chairman and board members laid the foundation for synergy and harmonious working relationships and poised to deliver a seamless and memorable Hajj experience in 2024.
