The National Hajj Commission (NAHCON), has extended deadline payment for 2024 holy pilgrimage to Mecca and Medinnah to Wednesday, January 31, 2024, as against the earlier date of Sunday, December 31, 2023.
Executive Secretary, Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board (OGMPWB), Alhaji Dauda Salau, disclosed this in Abeokuta, during a meeting with members of staff, explaining that the move was in response to pleas from religious leaders and other stakeholders in Hajj operations, to give more time to intending pilgrims who have not completed their hajj deposits or make payment.
Alhaji Salau urged those who made deposits to complete their balance, as government intensifies efforts to get Muslims and intending pilgrims across the state informed about the deadline.
“We are calling on intending pilgrims who have made Hajj deposits to come and balance up and those who are still wishing to perform this holy pilgrimage with Ogun State government to take this opportunity and quickly obtain their Hajj forms before the new closing date”, he said.
The OGMPWB boss, who promised a seemless Hajj operations, commended NAHCON for heeding to the pleas of the people.
