The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Alkauthar Travels and Tours Abuja, Hajiya Rabi Umar has stated that her company has decided to stick with Ithra Alkhair Saudi based service provider for her Hajj 2024 pilgrims.
Hajiya Rabi stated this on Friday in a brief chat with HAJJ REPORTERS ahead of a meeting between members of the Association of Hajj and Umrah Operators of Nigeria (AHUON), with the leadership of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
Following the decision of Saudi Arabian Ministry of Hajj and Umrah to to allow countries to choose their own service providers, a cross section of AHOUN members have decided to pick a new service provider for their pilgrims.
However, reports indicated that NAHCON had directed the tour operators to decide on a service provider and submit to it for approval.
Speaking on Friday, Hajiya Rabi said “honestly, I see no reason why I should leave what I know and go for what I don’t know.
“ I met with the Chairman of Ithraa in Saudi recently and he assured of not just the usual good, but better services. Besides, all the states have also pitched their tent with the company, so it is risky for me to do otherwise, it doesn’t make sense and I don’t want to joke with the welfare of my pilgrims” she said.
Asked what may be the likely outcome of Friday’s meeting, Hajiya Rabi said “ insha Allah all will be well, we will be guided by the sound judgement of our leadership and of course the chairman of NAHCON, the man means we’ll and is sincere”.
