Delta Muslims commend Tinubu over appointment of Oki as Commissioner at National Hajj Commission


….Urges Gov. Oborevwori to treat Muslims in state fairly

A section of Muslims in Delta State has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the appointment of Zainab Musa Oki as commissioner to represent South South in the National Hajj commission.

In a statement issued at the end of their meeting held in Warri by Alhaji Issah Olowo, the leader of Agbarha Muslim community in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, they described the appointment as a welcome development, adding that it is a square peg in a square hole.

Alhaji Olowo noted that Zainab Musa Oki will perform creditably having spent several years in Saudi Arabia.

The Muslim group called on all Muslims in the South South zone to rally round the Commissioner to enable her perform. He advised Muslims to key into the appointment stressing that nothing is permanent.

In another development the Muslim group has appealed to the Delta State Governor to treat Muslims in the state fairly like their sister religious body in the state, rising from the same meeting no state in Nigeria is either a Christian or Muslim state therefore they demand justice and equal treatment.

The Muslim while pledging loyalty and support to the administration of Sheriff Oborevwori they however appeal to the Governor to listen to their plight over the appointment of non-Deltans who he appointed to held the Muslim board in Delta state.
